Led Zeppelin reunion postponed!!!

I've been pretty harsh on bands today cancelling shows, but I'm not going to slag on Jimmy Page for making Zeppelin push back their reunion show from November 26th to December 10th because of a broken hand. First off, the guy is like 70. That kind of stuff happens. Second, he's 678457498 better than any other dude who has picked up a guitar in the last 50 years. That being said, I'm gonna let this one slide - once.

Smashing Pumpkins Reschedule Dates

So it seems like everyone has got a case of the "I'm not feeling too hot so I'm gonna cancel my tour" disease that is going around these days. Smashing Pumpkins drummer, Jimmy Chamberlain is sick, so the fake Pumpkins are going to have to reschedule their tour dates until he feels better.

Seriously, man up. You're not patroling the streets of Baghadad, you're a drummer in a rock band!


Let's remember the pumpkins back when they were good...and more people cared.

The Decemberists cancel tour dates

The Decemberists have cancelled the remainder of their "The Long and Short of It Tour." The band had been playing two nights in each city on this tour, alternating between sets filled with their longer, epic tunes and sets comprised of their shorter, more popular tracks. Apparently, someone in the band is sick and can't go on touring.

C'mon dude, drink some tea and hit the stage!

Band of Horses Tour

Seriously guys, if you haven't listened to "Band Of Horses " you are missing out on the most amazing band. Their new album, "Cease to Begin" comes out October 9th, 2007 and it is AMAZING!! That's right, I have it - be jealous. They are also going on tour to promote the record, so skip the lame-ass Starting Line/Paramore tour and go to see a real band.

Eddie Vedder releases "Into The Wild" Soundtrack

The new short-haired Eddie Vedder is going to release the soundtrack for the new Sean Penn directed film "into The Wild" on October 29th. This should be a good collection of Vedder's songs, as well as a great movie. I think Vedder also has a small cameo in the next Judd Apatow movie, "Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story" that comes out at Christmas time.

White Stripes Cancel Tour

It looks like Meg White is suffering from "acute anxiety and is unable to travel at this time." Whatever that means, it looks like the Stripes tour with Cold War Kids that was supposed to start this week has been cancelled. Come on, Meg! The show must go on!

Led Zeppelin Reunion

After years of rumors and "Jimmy Page and Robert Plant Only" bills, It looks like Led Zeppelin is going to take the stage one more time. Sorta.

Bassist John Paul Jones is on board and it looks like the late John Bonham's son Jason is going to be behind the drumset for this one night only gig. That's right, it's only for one night on November 26th, 2007 at 02 in London. The entire gig is going to be for charity, which is kinda refreshing considering there have been so many reunions that seem like they are just about making money...cough....Smashing Pumpkins...cough.

Great old-fashioned Rock and Roll from the midwest. This band reminds me a lot of The Black Crowes back when they just played in bars and fought with each other.

I first heard about Alice Smith when her song "Dream" closed an episode of Entourage this season. She has a really great soul sound that reminds me of a young Alicia Keys.

Apparently Jack White is showing up backstage on the new Garbage DVD eating shortbread and being very well behaved. It seems like his days of beating the shit out of pussies like that guy from The Von Bondies are behind him. Sad....

John Lennon "Imagine Peace Tower" to be unveiled in Icelancd

We now have another reason to visit Reykjavik, Iceland. It looks like Yoko Ono is going to unveil the "Imagine Peace Tower" on October 9, 2007 to commemerate John Lennon's 67th birthday.

According to Yoko "I hope Imagine Peace Tower will give light to the strong wishes of world peace from all corners of the plant and give encouragement, inspiration and a sense of solidarity in a world filled with fear and confusion."

I guess it was always a dream of John's to have a huge light tower in a country that is cold as hell and where no one lives. Imagine all the people...freezing their asses off.

New Coldplay Album

I like Coldplay. So what? You know you do too. Don't even pretend you are better than that. You're not..

We can all rejoice because the band is finally talking about their followup to 2005 "X&Y" which should be released next year. Some tarck titles include:

'Lost!', 'Cemeteries Of London', 'Violet Hill', 'Poppy Fields', '42', 'Yes!', 'Leftrightleftrightleft' and 'Rainy Day'.

Ex- Snow Patrol Bassist Sues for "Creative Diiferences"

I'm guessing former Snow Patrol bassist Mark McClelland checked his bank account recently and realized he had one of two choices:

1) Get a real job
2) Sue my former band now that they are rolling in the cash from that "Chasing Cars" song.

It seams Mr. McClelland has no intention of working an honest day in his life, so he's going to sue the band he left in 2005 for what he calls "Creative Differences." How about you get a more creative way of making money?
